EN TOURNANT is an hour-long period drama about the little known history of the Paris Opera ballerinas, who not-so-secretly made their living as mistresses to the male patrons of the opera. We enter this backstage enterprise through the eyes of Sylvie- a poor country girl who finds herself thrust into the cutthroat world of the Opera and of belle époque Paris. En Tournant explores art versus ambition and asks how far these girls will push themselves in order to survive...and advance ballet into an art form.
